7/16/08 – finished the ring sling July 16, 2008

Here is the finished project and I will post an in action picture later when Mark can get a picture and if I can get Moriah to try it out.

ETA: some action pics

This is actually I think my most comfy hip carrier right now.  Moriah actually let me wear her for quite awhile and didn’t have any aches or pains.  I think this is going to end up being our zoo carrier.

The colors of this sling are really hard to capture, it actually is an olive color but in the pictures it looks grayish.  It really is stunning!

7/15/08 – start double layer ring sling

Filed under: Uncategorized — heathergw @ 2:26 am

I didn’t get a before picture because my camera battery was dead and by the time I could get a picture it was dark outside so I’ll get a picture in the morning.

Tonight, I ironed 3 yards of this gorgeous linen I found trimmed it down to 80″ and then sewed up the edges leaving a little bit for turning around.  So tomorrow, if I decide not to take a nap I’ll turn it around, iron it and then topstitch all the way around it.  If I have time after that then I’ll fit the rings on it and then finish it up, but somehow I don’t think I’ll get that far.

Trying to motivate myself…

to actually work on some projects instead of spending so much time online.  I love crafts, the problem is that I start projects and then either don’t finish them or become unmotivated to do anymore.  So, I decided it was time to start blogging to see if I can get some of my motivation back.  My goal for this blog is to post everyday something that I did for that day.  Those of you that know my other blogs know that it’s a goal but doesn’t mean it’s going to happen, lol.

Some of the things you’ll be seeing in this blog will be sewing projects, knitting & crochet projects, scrapbooking projects, fun with photoshop (before and after pics), maybe some childhood crafts done with my 2.5 year old daughter… I’m sure the list can go on and on.  Tonight’s project is to work on a ring sling that I would like to have finished before we go to WI for vacation.  I guess I should get off the computer now and get out the ironing board and iron. =)
